Not Just Prescriptions

The continued rise in use of fat burners is cause for concern for doctors as rates of drug related deaths continue to grow.

Over the counter fat burners are sadly becoming a normal supplement among people of all ages and sex. The growth in sales of these products is of a well placed concern for the FDA and nutrition groups. The main reason for concern is the addition of Ephedrine contained in the formula to make these fat burners. The reason that Ephedrine is a dangerous product is because it creates a state of increased hear rate, which can lead to heart problems or can sometimes lead to death.

A few things being done by concerned citizens to do to deter people from using these pills will encompass nutrition advice and education about the reasons that these weight loss pills are harmful. A challenge these interest groups face in curbing the consumption is that the fact that the fat burners are now being used by a much wider range of the population and it is a problem solely associated with younger women. There will continue to be efforts to educate people to stop the abuse of these pills, but only time will tell if it will work.
